IPPMI has an internship program for participating government officials to work as a professional staff member or assistant to a public professional at their placement organization. The internship is completed during the second semester of the program, after intensive ESL training during the first semester.

Target placement organizations include Kentucky State Government, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, and other local public organizations. If they desire, our participants may also join nationally competitive internship programs in Washington, D.C., Chicago, or Atlanta depending on their efforts in completing an application and on their career experience.

IPPMI will assist participants in locating and arranging an internship placement. However, program participants are ultimately responsible for initiating contact with target placement organizations and securing a suitable internship.
