Program Curriculum

for

Local Public Enterprise and Local Government

 

Academic Professional Curriculum

  • Courses will cover public administration and management with particular attention paid to Local Public Enterprises and Local Government Management.
  • Trainees must take two courses, each semester.
    - A professional seminar on contemporary local public management.
    - A professional seminar on key elements of public policy and public finance.

Field Training Curriculum

  • Field training trips will be made to local public enterprises in the U.S. This will include the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, Kentucky State Government, and public agencies in Chicago, Illinois, and Washington, D.C.
  • Field training visits will address such topics as local public enterprise management, subway system management, and urban development policy.

English Language Course Curriculum

  • It is a creative process that emphasizes pronunciation, idioms, story, etc.
  • It is based on the ESL course curriculum, including Reading, Writing, and Speaking classes.

Special Lecture for Professional Development

  • These lectures will feature invited guest speakers from government, business, and the nonprofit sector.

American Cultural Experience

  • These will include a variety of speakers, on-campus programs, and off-campus programs to broaden the participants’ understanding and enjoyment of American social practices and culture.
