Eric Hanushek The recipient of the 2010 Martin School Doctoral Student Association's biennial Distinguished Scholar Award. Dr. Hanushek is the Paul and Jean Hanna Senior Fellow in Education at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, and an internationally recognized expert in the economics of education. On February 9, Dr. Hanushek recieved his recognition and presented, "Will U.S. Schools Drag Us Down" to students and faculty from the University of Kentucky. |

Crit Luallen A member of the Martin School Board of Visitors, Crit Luallen is in her second term as Kentucky Auditor of Public Accounts. Crit has uncovered millions of dollars in government fraud and questionable expenditures, and has referred a record number of cases to law enforcement officials. At the same time, she continues to focus on ways to improve government management and efficiency. More about her accomplishments can be found here. |

Jacob Fowles Jacob Fowles is a Ph.D. student whose research focuses on the issues of education finance and education policy. His dissertation, supervised by Dr. Eugenia Toma, examines the state management of public higher education. He recently accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Public Administration at the University of Kansas and will join the faculty in fall of 2010. David Duttlinger Department Director of Community and Economic Development at the Bluegrass ADD, David graduated from the Martin School with a Master's Degree in Public Administration in 2002. Prior to joining the area development district in 2007, David spent ten years as a consultant for a Lexington based engineering firm providing design, project management and management consulting services in the water and wastewater service industry.
